It would be great to talk to you. I googled george jacob koerner's name and all this information came up . catherine utt according to the information on the website it is said that catherine utt's mother was native american.  The information also states that the native americans were always on the koerner  farms and taking farm products as late as the 1940's.

Hi flora   There is a george keorner a relative of your george who has his website on internet genealogy traces his ancestor marrying my Utt family but I never knew we had native american.  It could be from our Lucretia Solomon since I can never find her parents.  She was supposedly born in 1757 died 1859 at 102 in Monroe Co PA.  Catherine Utt was the granddaughter of my ancestor Adam Utt and Sarah Mills thru their son Charles Utt born in 1823, she was born in 1850s I think.  Does that sound right to you.     What story did you hear about Catherine utt.

Bryan,

I was informed by my mother that I have Cherokee and Cahokia Indian in our ancestry.  My mother's maiden name is Parkhurst.  I, too, am very curious to research our ancestry.  This is the first I'm hearing of being related to the Nanticoke tribe (correct spelling).  Good luck in your research.

When I was a child my father told me that we have native american blood. Later he told me that we were related to the delaware nation of tribes. Upon further research I found that the actual tribe from which we came was nanicote (spelling unsure). I have been very interested in my liniage but not very succesful at diggig any info up on them, if anyone can help me with information or where I can get information on that particular tribe I would be truely grateful. I have a mixed ancestory as most of us Americans do, however it seems a shame to me that I only have my european heritage in black and white and nothing but oral hand me downs for my native liniage. I am looking for this info to hand down to my children so they will always know where they come from. Thanks to any one who can help...

I would like to know where I might purchase actual books on the Delaware Indians.

Am not able to download.

My great Grandmother, on my father's side, was a Delaware Indian. We have a picture of her smoking a corn cob pipe. Wish I could have known her.

Hi Joanne, My Great Grandmother Catherine Utt married George Koerner, The story states that they had 22 children 20 of whom were male. Catherine Utt was George Koerner's neighbor. George Koerner was the son of Jacob and Katherine Kaufman Koerner  who arrived on the Ship "The Great Britian" in August of 1837 from Germany. Catherine Utt  was my Grandfather Herbert Koerner's mother.I am trying to find out what her real delaware indian name was.Any information you have would be great to know! thanks Flora

Hi Flora

I decend from Utt family from Pocono Mtn area.  Lower Smithfield.  My Elias Utt married Lucretia Solomon in 1782 -  He fought in the REVOLUTIONARY WAR

he had brothers Hugh, Jacob, Adam, Christian, and Henry.  One of these men might be husband to your Catherine.  What year was she living?  These men lived about 1750 to 1830.

I want to thank you for putting this site together.  I'm a decendent from the Lenni Lenape and recently returned to the home land last summer to explore Native American History and American History.  I've been studying Native American Spirituality for the last several years and recently started self-training to be a medicine woman a year ago.  Just a few months back a friend started teaching me the history of herbology.  I am a lucky person to have proof that i'm a child of the Lenni Lenape, my family has kept a large book containing the entire family tree leading back to before the irish and germans came to america.  It was my german ancestors that gave money to William Penn to reach america, and its my irish family who's name has remained our sur name.  For years i've been trying to find the history of my ancestors of the natives and i'm happy to have found such a detailed site.  For everyone searching thier family's past i wish you luck in your search.

My great great grandfather was James Anderson who's grandfatther was Chief Anderson.  His daughter's delaware name was "Cricket."  I've been tracing the history of the Conner family and working on getting accepted into a Delaware tribe.  I just learned that their was a Chief John Conner that lived in Texas as one time.  Most of our family came from southern MO. that came from Connersville, IN.  Does anyone have infomation on them?

I am a fan of history, especially the French and Indian War. I have really enjoyed reading about the Delaware nation. What a great people. What great individuals, what great leaders, what great personalities. There wisdom, organization and methods of justice were inspirational. Even though it has been 250 plus years, I am still saddened to read of what they went through. I have been thoughout Pennsylvannia and am always stirred when I walk in their footsteps. I want to carve the word "Delaware" on every rock and sign.

I am looking for lenape songs so we may learn them and sing them at our gatherings. Does anyone have a cassette or cd of the songs?
